Hampta Pass Trek

Overview

Hamta pass trek is a long but easiest trek in Himachal Pradesh. Hamta pass trek might not be the most challenging trek, but it has its own specialty. Hamta pass trek has different landscapes from the start of the trek to the end you will see the variations in landscapes from the tree line to grassland, to grassland to snow and the variations of sceneries of this trek cannot be found on any other trek.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Manali to Chika via Jobri

We will drive to Jobri by cab it will take us to 2 hours to get there. When we reach there you found apple orchards, we walk through apple orchards to pine forest. You will also find a variety of trees like maple, deodar, toss, and oak. Half an hour into the trek and now you can see meadows. Take a minute or couple to just enjoy the surroundings takes a fresh breath. As you start walking on meadows you’ll see Rani Nallah which flows directly between the meadows. This fabulous view will make you feel like you are in some fairy tale story, and it does kind of seems like this sight of view is straight out of fairy tale. After crossing the vast meadows you will reach the Chika where you will be spending the rest of the evening in the Chika camp site.


Day 2 Chika to Balu ka Ghera

The second day, after breakfast you head to your next destination Balu ka Ghera. As we start following the rivers left-back to reach Balu Ghera the trails lead to a slope of boulders. Despite the rocky path, the way not much difficult and you can complete it easily. After walking for 2 hours you found yourself standing in front of the mighty Dhauladhar range of Himalayas. Take a moment to watch the marvelous sight of snow peaks front of and river, green meadows, silver birch trees around you. From here we need to walk now 1-2 hours of trek to get to the Balu ka Ghera. As you start walking you going to more of more amaze by the beauty of nature you will find snow melting into the river walking for a while you find multi-colored flowers the last of tree line now has come to end from here now only meadows and the rocky path is going to walk upon. In the end, now you have reached Balu ka Ghera. In Balu ka Ghera, you only found snow and green grass, It is said that the place Balu ka Ghera is formed due to and sand and dust deposited by the river. Balu ka Ghera composite is flat land. Our today's trek ends here.


Day 3 Balu Ghera to Siagoru crossing Hamta pass

After leaving Balu Ghera we continue to the head of the valley before a steep ascent takes us onto the Hampta Pass (4280m). We take in amazing views of the surrounding the mighty Inderasan and Deo Tibba Peak. We then descend a steep path to our campsite at Shiragoru.


Day 4 Shiragoru to Chhatru, 3-4hours trek, Jeep to Kunzum Pass(4500m), trek to Chandratal Lake

We have a short trek of 3-4 hours to reach the road again at Chhatru. On the descent, there are fantastic views into the Lahaul Valley and one starts to get the feel of being in real high altitude mountain country. From Chhatru we’ll onto the jeep and drive through the valley. The Lahaul Valley is world-renowned for its geological diversity and the journey takes in some spectacular scenery. We drive up to Kunzum Pass(4500m). This formidable barrier between the Lahaul and Spiti Valley gives great views of both valleys. After paying our respects at the Kunzum gompa we then head down to Chandratal. It’s an easy trail and we’ll arrive at the amazingly barren, but beautiful, Chandratal lake by afternoon. This holy lake, sitting at 4300m, is surrounded by strangely multi-colored slopes and distant peaks. Again, the rest of the day is yours to enjoy this unbelievable landscape.


Day 5 Chandratal to Manali, jeep drive 6-7hours

In the morning we’ll get back in the jeeps and drive back to Manali by Rothang pass(3900m).

Trek Fee Includes:

  • Accommodation: From Day 1 to last day of the trek accommodation will be provided at campsite.
  • Meals: From Dinner on Day 1 to Breakfast on Last day of trek are included. Himalayan Trekker Provides on Vegetarian food.

  • Note:Himalayan Trekker expect you to carry your own backpacks,if you wish to offload your backpack, you can give it to Potar. Charges - 800 full trek You have to inform us in advance for backpack offloading. once we reached at starting point of trek offloading can't be possible.
  • Stay at Manali on the last day
  • Anything apart from inclusions

Cancellation Polices:

  • Cancellations prior to 15 days from the start of the Trek: Get a full refund (minus 5% transaction cost). The money will be transferred to the same bank account from where the transaction was made.
  • Cancellations prior to 10 days from the start of the Trek: 50% Cancellations Charges. The money will be transferred to the same bank account from where the transaction was made.
  • Cancellations less than 7 days of departure: Unfortunately, NO REFUND.
